Amasiiko Pregnancy Care Center

Amasiiko (Hope) Pregnancy Care Center

Amasiiko (Hope) Pregnancy Care Center birthed in November 2017 through collaboration with Beautiful Feet International. Masiiko Pregnancy Care Center trains the Batwa women on the life inside of their womb, how to care for their bodies and unborn children, and follows up with the women through the first year of life of their child.  We believe that by upgrading their skills and knowledge base that it helps to build their confidence and also increases the health of the mother, decreases mortality rates and increases the well being among the Batwa mothers and babies.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you."

Jeremiah 1:5

Amasiiko — the Rukiga word for "hope" — was born in November 2017 through a partnership with Beautiful Feet International. The center reaches Batwa women and teenage mothers across five locations in Southwest Uganda, walking with them through pregnancy, delivery, and the first year of their child's life.

Maternal mortality among the Batwa is deeply shaped by poverty, isolation, and lack of access to even basic health information. Amasiiko exists to change that — not just through education, but through the proclamation that every mother is known by God, and every life in the womb is a gift from His hand.

At every gathering, the message of hope in Christ is at the center. Women are taught that God is the one who opens and closes the womb — that their pregnancies are not accidents but opportunities for His grace. Many women have come to faith through Amasiiko, finding in the gospel the dignity and love they had never before been offered.
